About Me
Hi! My name is Scot, a.k.a. The Urban Slacker. I am USB Productions
I have been working in the music industry for over twenty years as a tour manager,
backline tech, live sound engineer, recording engineer and producer. I have worked
with many artists from all over the world and as well as my extensive work on live
performances, I have spent a great deal of time engineering, producing or assisting
in various recording studios. I have a very wide and varied experience of both stage
and studio, giving me the opportunity to take the best of both worlds and use it so
that the artist gets the best possible recording/mix for their material.
I moved to Bristol in 2003 from Oxford, where I had a project studio setup called
R-House (because it was in our house). We recorded various local acts, Including
Suitable Case For Treatment, Ivy's Itch, and Sexy Breakfast. I soon got to know
Bristol and experience its musical culture, and when I decided to move here I
quickly met various local musicians through engineering in live venues around the
city. After doing mixes for some of them in my small home studio, I decided I wanted
to get a proper recording studio going again in order to better capture some of the ever
changing Bristol music scene. After much searching I found the space that I am currently
working in which is part of a collective of musicians that I met featuring Press Play
and Smerrins Anti Social Club and together we have now created something beyond all our expectations.
My approach towards music and recording is about capturing the moment. If I can help you with
your music in any way or if you have any questions please drop me a line.
